Once you are a member, get involved!
-print out 'Medical Card' and fill out. Have on member's left upper arm at all times
-parents should look into volunteer opportunities
-visit "links" page and "HM" page
-download, print, or buy 'New Member Booklet'
-make sure to read the 'safety packet'
-stay informed with "Moon Talk"
-read the 'Pony Club Pledge'
-don't forget our dress code! View our power point 'proper attire'
-print out the 'D1 flow-chart' and start studying!
-the more you put in, the more you get out, so get involved!
-practice! Be safe at home and in all your lessons
What is a suitable horse?
-mare or gelding (no stallions) over 5 years old
-suitable and safe for the rider's current level/ability
-healthy and seviceably sound
-safe in a small group atmosphere
-remember: we do not guarantee access to a horse, though we try to accommodate
-it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure their child has use of a safe horse
Ready to rate? Be prepared for your first rating!
-make sure you have completed the flowchart with a pony club instructor
-fill out a 'rating request form'. Give to the DC
-talk to your DC about what you need to work on and how much it will cost
-give your pony a bath and clean all your tack. Dress sharp!
-remember your pony club pin
-relax, smile, be professional. You know your stuff!
-when you are finished, be sure to thank your examiner, your DC, your pony, and your
parents, as well as anyone else who helped you
-use everything as a learning experience. What can you do better next time?
-once you pass a rating, print out the next level's flowchart and start studying!
Don't forget to give back to the club!
-help new members feel welcome
-participate in team competitions
-volunteer whenever you can
-come up with fun ideas for the club
-make study materials for new members
-show up on time to all your lessons
-have a positive attitude!

Note: It is ILLEGAL in the city of Norco for a minor to ride without a helmet. Adults who like being alive and well are recommended to wear one as well.
